Forecast: So it seems that we should prepare to start buying into the equities stocks for the next six months. The Dow will flutter around 11,000 for another month, then make a run up to 12,000 in January 2011.

Actual: Wed Jan 26, 12:23 pm ET. NEW YORK (AFP) – US stock markets traded mostly higher Wednesday as investors awaited the end of a Federal Reserve policy-setting meeting. After opening with slight gains, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 8.63 points (0.07 percent) to 11,968.64 at 1635 GMT.

The blue-chip Dow made a brief foray above the symbolic threshold of 12,000 for the first time since June 2008.
